Board Looks at Proposed 2011-12 Calendar
The Bronxville Board of Education reviewed an adjusted school calendar for 2011-12. The final calendar modified the original draft to conform to all legal holidays, the teacher contract (which dictates that the school year shall not begin prior to Labor Day), and the New York State Regents schedule (which dictates the end of the school year). The school year includes 182 days for students and 185 days for teachers (including three conference days). The vacations conform to the dates established by the Lower Hudson Council of School Superintendents.
As occurred in the current year, the first day for students will begin at 10:00 AM on September 6, the day after Labor Day. The complete calendar, which will be recommended for approval in March, can be seen here.
